My journey actually started on July 30th, 2024.
It was in those early morning hours that I received a text message from my spouse while in Cheyenne, Wyoming as I was preparing to fly back home to Schodack, NY. The text message accused me of domestic abuse. I arrived home later that evening to an empty home, except for our four dogs.
A few days later, there was a knock at the door. It was the Rensselaer County Sheriff. I was handed an “ex parte” no contact order of protection from the NY Family Court System. I was asked to pack up some things and never again was I able to spend the night in my marital home.
My reality had just set in. That reality was warning I received years earlier from our marriage counselor. When a narcissist realizes that they can no longer control you, they will erupt in narcissistic rage “like you have never known.” And so it was.
Over the last year and half, I navigated the road of trying to divorce my narcissist. Over the course of that year, I endured orders of protection, dogs being killed or put up for adoption, and countless other evil and despicable efforts on the part of my narcissist spouse; all of which I will share with you in the hopes to help anyone else understand the realities of being trapped and a victim of narcissistic abuse. Along the way, I will offer resources, tips, and other information that both helped me in my road to recovery and my successful navigation through the divorce process.
Welcome to my story.
